Northwestern Medicine is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses, and other licensed staff by facilitating efficient patient flow, assisting with examinations, and handling administrative tasks. The role emphasizes patient safety, confidentiality, and teamwork, with a strong focus on accuracy and a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Current MA certification or eligibility within six months (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, NRCMA)
• Zero to two years’ experience in a relevant role; strong computer skills preferred

Responsibilities

• Assures efficient patient flow through the site; escorts patient, takes vitals, updates records, and prepares exam room.
• Assists with medical and surgical procedures per established protocols (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, specimen collection).
• Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms; manages vaccine/medication inventory and disposes of expired items.
• Interacts professionally with patients and care team to promote satisfaction and confidentiality.
• Performs delegated procedures safely and efficiently; supports the care team as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
