Job summary

VIPcare in Ocala, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support under supervision of a physician, PA, or APRN. You will prepare patients for exams, assist during visits, document in the EMR, and help maintain a safe, patient-centered workflow.

Key duties include taking vital signs, administering medications and vaccines, handling phlebotomy, performing simple in-office testing, and coordinating care with front desk tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
• 1+ year of Medical Assistant experience in a physician practice, outpatient, or ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within organizational guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and document medical history and concerns in the EMR.
• Measure and document vital signs and other clinical observations.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for provider visits and assist during examinations.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and in-office procedures as directed.
• Explain treatment plans and follow-up care to patients; support front office communications.
