Job Description:

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Assists in coordinating examination, treatment, and healthcare planning under provider supervision. Supports office functions to facilitate patient care and operations, following established protocols and policies.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate patient care with the healthcare team.
• Prepare patients, obtain vital signs, update medical records, and assist with screenings and procedures.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures; may serve as a scribe.
• Follow up with patients and communicate test results as directed.
• Prepare exam rooms, manage supplies, sterilize instruments, and perform lab and medication documentation tasks.
• Perform clerical duties and may float between locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• High School / GED
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or 1 year of Medical Assistant or direct patient care experience
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34, 33, and 73 Background Clearances

Certification required within 120 days if not already certified; acceptable certifications include NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA.

Preferred:

• Associate's Degree
