The role requires providing direct patient care, taking vitals, recording information, and assisting the care team to ensure a smooth patient experience. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of MA experience, a high school diploma (or equivalent), BLS certification, and preferably CMA certification.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred.
  • BLS Certification required; CMA preferred.
  • Direct MA experience or extensive medical assisting background (1–2 years minimum).

Responsibilities

  • Take vital signs, document patient information, schedule appointments, and manage patient flow.
  • Show patients to exam rooms, prepare equipment, interview patients, and record medical data.
  • Explain treatments and instructions, and provide patient教育 materials as needed.
  • Perform select phlebotomy procedures and collect specimens when competent.
  • Maintain immunization inventory and check expiration dates; administer vaccines when certified.

We provide compassionate care for patients and support for their families across the lifespan.We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour experienced Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite, Monday through Friday 7:45am-4:15pm or 8:00-4:30pm. The medical assistant will work 1:1 with our Primary Care provider in our single provider practice, seeing approximately 8 patients a day.SummaryThe role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow.This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care.Does this position require Patient Care? YesEssential Functions-Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and helps facilitate their learning by participating in onboarding training.-Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers, and interview patients to obtain medical information, measure their vital signs, weight, and height, and record information in the patient's medical record.-Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, ordering and organizing educational materials to reinforce patient education.-Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms, while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach.-Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated.-Maintains inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.-Provides immunizations (as applicable) which requires certification or 3 years of experience administering a vaccine and supervision of a provider.-Responsible for improving appropriate departmental quality initiatives, such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene.QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferredCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?NoLicenses and CredentialsBasic Life Support [BLS Certification]Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] preferredExperienceDirect MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years requiredAdditional Job Details (if applicable)At least 3 years of Medical Assistant experience, with a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
