Job summary

Upperline Health invites applications for a Medical Assistant at our Columbus, IN clinic. The position supports podiatric physicians with clinical and administrative tasks, including taking and documenting vitals, assisting in exams, and performing x-ray duties as needed.

The suitable candidate will have prior MA experience, prefer podiatry/orthopedics exposure, EMR familiarity (athenahealth), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Experience assisting geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience working with EMR, preferably athenahealth.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for physician visits.
• Complete exam intake including medical history and current issues.
• Record vitals and document in EMR (athenahealth).
• Assist in exam and take x-rays as required.
• Perform daily administrative tasks and restock rooms.
• Sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient and daily.
• Handle equipment sterilization and health assessments.
• Coordinate care for Upperline Plus patients and outreach.
• Manage medical records requests, referrals and scheduling.
