Job summary

UW Health in Madison is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA/CMA/RMA/CCMA/LPN) to support a plastic surgery team. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist with treatments and injections, and promote healthy lifestyles and patient education.

The role offers a full-time day shift with weekend considerations as applicable by the unit. The position requires completion of an accredited MA program or LPN/CMA/RMA/CCMA certification, with a preference for MA apprenticeship completion and/or 1 year

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program or equivalent.
• LPN licensure or CMA/RMA/CCMA certification (or equivalent).
• MA Apprenticeship or accelerated MA program acceptance is desirable.
• One year of MA experience with CMA/RMA/CCMA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Join a team of plastic surgeons delivering full-spectrum plastic surgery services.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with treatments and office procedures.
• Support Botox and facial filler injections and patient education on wellness.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and wellness opportunities for patients.

Education

Completion of an accredited medical assistant program

Licensure as an LPN or CMA/RMA/CCMA certification

Completion of UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship or Employee Partner MA Program

CCMA certification as a UWH employee

MA Apprenticeship Accelerated program acceptance

One year MA experience and CMA/RMA/CCMA certification

Full time, 100% day shift. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program Required or
• Licensure as an LPN or
• Completion of the UWH Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program or an Employee Partner Medical Assistant Program or
• Attainment of the CCMA certification as a UWH employee or
• Acceptance into the UWH MA Apprenticeship Program - Accelerated or
• One year of recent Medical Assistant experience and CMA, RMA or CCMA Certification

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant or LPN Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Certified as MA, CMA, RMA, or CCMA within 1 Year Required or
• Licensure as an LPN Upon Hire Required
• If applying in lieu of Medical Assistant education or LPN licensure, must have current CMA, RMA, or CCMA certification Upon Hire Required
• CPR/BLS certification Upon Hire Required
