Job summary

Shore Gastroenterology in Oakhurst, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with clinical and administrative tasks. You will take vital signs, prepare patients for examinations, assist during procedures, perform phlebotomy, and help with specimen processing while maintaining a sterile environment.

You will answer phones, schedule appointments, coordinate with nurse practitioners, and ensure patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Experience in healthcare/clinical setting preferred.
• Familiarity with phlebotomy and specimen processing.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and recording histories.
• Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens per protocol.
• Label and process specimens for lab testing.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean clinical environment.
• Handle scheduling, phone calls and administrative tasks.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with regulations.
