Job summary

St. Joseph's Health in New Jersey seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs and nurses by preparing patients, taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy and assisting with procedures.

You will use department systems to enter and retrieve patient data; a high school diploma and accredited Medical Assistant program completion are required, with current certification (AAMA/NHA/AMT). Bilingual preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must have and maintain current certification or registration from an accredited institution (AAMA/NHA/AMT).
• Bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic medical assistance to physicians/providers and nurses.
• Perform basic patient preparation including vital signs, chart preparation and phlebotomy.
• Assist with procedures and collect lab samples.
• Utilize department-specific computer systems for entry and retrieval of patient data.
