Job summary

A-Line Staffing is hiring a Medical Assistant in Edina, MN to provide clinical and administrative support for VA Claim Exams. The role includes history taking, vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and coordinating exams on-site.

The position is onsite in Edina with travel up to 10% for offsite events. Temp-to-perm employment offers potential for extension or permanent placement based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience is required; onsite training provided for most duties but not phlebotomy.
• Onsite training will be provided for most responsibilities; MA certification not required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Typing speed 45–60 words per minute is preferred.
• Willingness to travel approx. 10% to offsite events.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients and obtain medical histories.
• Prepare clinical charts and conduct medical opinion research before appointments.
• Update medical records and billing reports; maintain patient confidentiality.
• Prepare and sanitize examination rooms and instruments.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with check-in/check-out.
• Obtain and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood draws.
• Conduct EKGs, PFTs, and ABI tests as directed.
• Submit diagnostic tests to facilities.
• Assist with patient scheduling and visitor prescreening.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures.
• Answer phones and manage inventory.
