Patient First in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant (Phlebotomist) to support physicians and nurses with examinations, lab work, and phlebotomy procedures. The role emphasizes accurate vital signs, triage, EMR proficiency, and teamwork in a busy patient-care setting.

Duties include lab tasks, instrument sterilization, supply management, and maintaining a clean treatment area, with opportunities for CPR training and center-wide support as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum typing experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of clinical experience in a hospital or physician’s office preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to attend CPR classes and code drills.

Responsibilities

• Locate patients and obtain accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures; triage and assess patient condition.
• Understand and use the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Order lab, x-ray, and medical supplies as directed.
• Assist Nurses and Physicians with patient treatments and care.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures and lab duties as assigned.
• Sterilize and set up instruments; maintain treatment area cleanliness.
