Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist - Charleroi

Preferred Primary Care Physicians currently has an opening for a Full-Time Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant at our Charleroi, PA office. The ideal candidate will have a Phlebotomy Certification or at least 2 years of experience in phlebotomy. The role also involves back-office medical assistant duties such as rooming patients, taking vitals, administering injections, and triage when needed.

Position Overview:

Assist physicians and nurses with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks. May include appointment scheduling and electronic chart management.

Essential Functions:
  • Escort patients and record vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for visit.
  • Administer injections as directed.
  • Handle patient calls, prescriptions, and referrals.
  • Obtain patient records, lab data, and diagnostics.
  • Collect blood specimens adhering to safety protocols.
  • Assist with exams, procedures, and scheduling follow-ups.
  • Maintain exam rooms and order supplies.
  • Gather new patient information and test results.
  • Perform administrative duties like typing, faxing, and reception.
  • Process instruments and equipment.
  • Notify physicians of patient reschedules or no-shows.
  • Support patient education activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required. Graduate from an accredited medical assistant program preferred. Experience in a medical practice setting is a plus, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
