Job summary

Shine Pediatrics & Wellness Center in Ovilla, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist. This full-time role supports clinical and front-office tasks, greets families, performs venipuncture, vital signs, vaccines, and patient communications.

You will work in a fast-paced pediatric setting, cross-train in the front office, and use NextGen HealthFusion EMR and Klara messaging.

Salary range $17.50–$19.50 hourly; schedule Mon-Fri 7:45am–5:00pm; strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CMA or RMA certification.
• Solid Medical Assistant experience including phlebotomy and injections.
• Strong multitasking skills and customer service mindset.
• Clear, professional communication — verbal and written.
• Comfort with high message volume and busy days.
• Pediatric care experience preferred.
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience.
• Near perfect attendance and punctuality.
• Knowledge of NextGen (HealthFusion) and Klara or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams & labs with care.
• Take vitals and document in our EMR.
• Perform blood draws, urine collections, and testing.
• Administer vaccines with a gentle touch.
• Answer patient messages & calls related to back-office care.
• Keep exam rooms stocked, clean, and ready for the next patient.
• Perform EKGs.
• Educate parents about Shine’s philosophy and care steps.
• This role will cross-train in the front office.

The Role

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CMA or RMA certification
• Solid experience as a Medical Assistant, including phlebotomy & injections
• Strong multitasking skills & a customer service mindset
• Clear, professional communication — verbal & written
• Comfort with high message volume & busy days
• Love for pediatrics (experience in pediatric care highly preferred)
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience
