Job summary

US Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join the Shady Grove Fertility network. The role supports fertility patients with phlebotomy, patient education, and vital clinical tasks, while maintaining lab workflows.

The position offers a Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–3:00 PM schedule with a $20–$23/hour pay range, commensurate with experience, and opportunities for growth within a nationally respected fertility network.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy skills required.
• High School diploma.
• Formal MA program; preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy and speed in data entry.

Responsibilities

• Perform high volume phlebotomy.
• Maintain supplies for blood drawing stations.
• Assist with clinical care of fertility patients.
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs.
• Provide patient/couple counseling and instruction from physicians.
• Deliver pre- and post-operative education.
• Prepare semen washes and setup for IUIs.
• Record vital signs and provide general clinical assistance.
• Enter labs and print labels in the computer system.
• Foster a compassionate environment for patients and families.
• Work independently to help achieve program goals.
• Support and promote excellent customer service.

Opportunity Overview

We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia.

• Schedule: Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Compensation: $20 to $23 per hour (commensurate with experience)

In this role, the Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist will:

• Perform high volume of phlebotomy
• Maintain supplies for the blood drawing stations
• Assist with the clinical care of fertility patients
• Ensure lab specimens are sent to proper labs
• Provide patient/couple counseling, procedure teaching, communicates physician orders and instructions
• Provide pre and post op education
• Perform semen washes and sets up for IUIs
• Take vital signs and provide general clinical assistance
• Utilize the computer in entering labs and printing labels
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and patients’ families
• Work independently to assure the program goals are achieved
• Support and promote excellence in customer service

Qualifications and Skills Include:

• Strong phlebotomy skills required
• High School diploma
• Completion of a formal MA program; preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to follow-through, and high degree of comfort with computer applications, accuracy and speed with data entry is required
• Minimum of one year of prior experience in healthcare and familiarity with medical terminology
