Job Description
Exhibit and perform Medical Assistant skills, enhancing the doctor/patient relationship within the PFC healthcare offices. Assume an organizational and leadership position, encouraging an optimum environment of communication, performance, and customer service among fellow employees. A responsible credentialed Medical Assistant, capable of performing and expanding the role of assisting/nursing in the clinic setting.
SCHEDULE
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Monday - Friday
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:
- Perform all duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Conduct oneself in a manner conducive to a professional office environment.
- Dress appropriately for a professional setting.
- Maintain a neat and well-ordered work environment.
- Assist in the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
- Adapt to workload changes by maintaining a flexible schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This position includes working within the allergy practice and providing support for ENT providers and the front desk.
- Maintain BLS certification.
- On-the-job training will be provided for emergency procedures specific to the allergy practice.
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
- Triage and assess patients.
- Administer allergy shots.
- Measure skin reactions.
- Mix allergy serum.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper ordering and receipt.
- Educate patients on allergy injections, treatments, and protocols.
- Prepare patients for examinations and testing.
- Document patient communications and circumstances professionally.
- Administer medications, treatments, or tests as directed by physicians.
- Use effective communication skills—verbal, written, telephone, and computer.
- Inform and advise patients regarding results, doctor’s advice, or required treatments and appointments.
- Respond to patient needs for education, referrals, or medication refills.
- Maintain good relationships with colleagues and superiors.
- Continuously assess the office environment for patient and staff safety and efficiency.
- Manage medical supplies, instruments, and equipment, including proper storage and maintenance.
- Return patient calls and perform other tasks as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Texas credentialing certificate in Medical Office Assisting preferred but not required.
- Job Knowledge: Possess practical and technical knowledge relevant to the role.
- Training and Experience: One to two years of office experience preferred but not required.
