Vivo Infusion Medical Assistant

In this position, you will play a crucial role in the Infusion Center's day-to-day success by providing essential support to our medical team, patient care, and clerical operations. As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for welcoming patients, assisting medical staff, and delivering safe, compassionate care in accordance with all external and internal guidelines and regulations.

We are looking for a Medical Assistant with prior administrative experience, strong initiative, and the ability to work independently to provide support on an as needed basis.

Potential to provide additional support to other local Vivo clinics as desired!

Compensation Range

Employment Type & Schedule, FLSA Status:

• Per Diem
• Per Diem: Works up to 20hours/week, must work a minimum of 1 shift/month to maintain active status.
• Shift availability: Monday-Saturday | 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Primary Responsibilities

• Room clinic patients in person or virtually and update patient chart with the required information
• Communicate pertinent patient data to providers and nurses to ensure quality and continuity of patient care
• Oversees and ensures efficient turnover of exam rooms
• Assist provider in the exam room as requested
• Collect, prepare, and submit ordered patient lab specimens as directed.
• Obtain prior authorizations for prescribed treatment's and document
• Triage patient phone calls and messages and document them appropriately
• Orders and manages supplies under the direction of manager
• Clean and stock the exam rooms, with the approved facility disinfectant.
• Assist in obtaining records required for the patient’s chart
• Support front desk staff as needed
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, reporting patient issues as needed throughout the treatment day.
• Follow company policies and CDC guidelines for infection control.
• Assist with proper handling and storage of hazardous materials.

• High school graduate or equivalent, required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registration
• CPR/BLS, required.
• 6 months of clinical experience, required.
• Phlebotomy and lab processing skills preferred.
• Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate professionally and effectively with other staff members, patients and physicians.
• Must possess computer skills for electronic recordkeeping.
• Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
