Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our clinical support team at the Grand Haven Care Center. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure delivery of high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Requires a high school diploma and an accredited MA program or one year of direct care experience. Certification within 120 days (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA) is required. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for external applicants.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Accredited Medical Assistant program with hands-on clinical skills, or 1 year MA/LPN/Paramedic/EMT experience.
• 1 year of relevant experience in physician practice or healthcare setting.
• Preferred BLS certification; required within 90 days.
• Certification within 120 days: CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NCMA/NRCMA.

Responsibilities

• Support clinical team to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and staff to deliver care.
• Perform MA duties within scope of practice.

Scope of Work

As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care. You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent Required
• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands‑on, in‑person clinical skills OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with an MA scope of practice Required
• 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Required
• Preferred AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Required within 90 Days
• One of the following Required within 120 Days
  • AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
  • AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
  • NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA)
  • NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)
  • NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)
