Responsibilities

• Adhere to attendance policy and site coverage as needed.
• Provide vital signs, interview patients/families, and chart results.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers in assessing and planning patient care.
• Maintain clear communication with providers, supervisors, peers.
• Ensure orders are directed to appropriate departments.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and sutures removal.
• Process medication and DME authorizations for patients.
• Handle walk‑in triage and age-appropriate interventions under supervision.

In our time of Company growth, we are seeking a Medical Assistant/Pediatric/Bilingual

Work Location: Sarasota, FL

As Part Of This Role, You Will

• Adhere to the time and attendance policy as written in the employee handbook
• Must be able to float to alternative locations as instructed by your supervisor with short notice and ensure adequate site coverage
• Responsible for providing vital signs, interviewing the patient/family, and charting
• Collaborates with healthcare providers in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the needs of the patients and peers
• Maintains positive, effective communication with providers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates
• Ensures providers’ orders are directed to the various appropriate departments
• Knowledgeable / Assist providers as requested with exams, procedures, removal of sutures, etc.
• Completes medication and DME authorizations for patients in a timely manner
• Knowledgeable in walk‑in triage and interventions regarding patients' age under the leadership of the Clinical Nurse Leader

Requirements

What you need to bring to this role:

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with 1 – 2 years’ experience preferred
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program required
• Submit proof of externship hours from an accredited program required
• Ability to verify graduation from an accredited school
• Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute Required
• Cardio Department ONLY: ACLS Certification through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety Institute Required
• Valid government or State ID

Summary

This individual assures that services are administered utilizing professional standards with a strong focus on quality, timely care, and exceptional customer service under the direction of the medical provider. Assist in the maintenance of an environment conducive to the health, training, and well‑being of peers and patients. This individual may have to float to sites as needed at the direction of the Department Head or designee.
