Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certificate from a United States accredited educational institution.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant Externship.
• Experience working with individuals in behavioral health preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology; excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Customer service experience required; ability to work in a fast paced office and prioritize multiple duties.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn other software programs.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with day-to-day health services operations, coordination of medical appointments, medication administration support, health record documentation, and communication between nursing staff, providers, and families as appropriate.
• Assisting with routine clinical procedures, monitoring and documenting health-related information, facilitating medication management processes, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, and ensuring timely completion of required health documentation.
• Coordinating, transporting, and accompanying individuals to off-site medical, dental, psychiatric, and specialty appointments, ensuring appropriate supervision, continuity of care, and timely communication of provider recommendations, treatment plans, and follow-up needs to the nursing and treatment teams.
• Assisting with infection prevention activities, health screenings, and adherence to organizational policies, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Providing administrative and clinical assistance to ensure efficient healthcare operations and support the overall health and well-being of individuals receiving residential treatment services, and other job duties as assigned.
