Qualifications

  • One year of work experience required; preferred in a medical office.
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred.
  • CPR certification through the American Heart Association required.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$19.89 - $28.84 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

  • Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant (MA/PSA)
  • Location: Skokie, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time: 6:30a - 3:30p Monday - Thursday; Friday 7:00a - 11:00a
  • Required Travel: Yes
  • What you will do:
  • Answer phones
  • Schedule appointments
  • Collect co-payments
  • Complete patient registration
  • Provide administrative support to the physician practice
  • Check in and check out patients
  • Verify insurances
  • Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
  • Document vital signs, allergies, medications, and reason for office visits
  • Provide front office support as needed
  • Perform basic vitals like BP, height, and weight
  • Phlebotomy and injections may be required
  • What you will need:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred but not required.
  • Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: One year of work experience required; previous experience working in a medical office or related field is preferred. On-the-job training is provided for those without previous medical assistant training or experience.
