Job summary

Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant for full-time or part-time hours. The role involves answering phones, scheduling appointments, collecting co-payments, patient registration, and front office support, with duties expanding to vitals and basic phlebotomy as needed.

Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. CPR certification is required; MA certification is preferred but not required, and one year of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; medical assisting program preferred but not required.
• Certification: CPR through American Heart Association required; MA cert preferred but not required.
• Experience: One year in medical office or related field required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-payments and complete patient registrations.
• Provide front office support and general administrative duties.
• Check in/out patients and verify insurances.
• Greet patients and escort to exam rooms; document vital signs and reason for visit.
• Perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight); phlebotomy and injections may be required.
• Assist physician practice with various administrative tasks.

Hourly Pay Range:

$20.29 - $29.42 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate’s expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

• Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant

• Location: Evanston, IL

• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week)

• Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM

What you will do:

• Answer phones

• Schedule appointments

• Collect co-payments

• Complete patient registration

• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice

• Check in and check out patient

• Verify insurances

• Greet patients and escort them to exam room

• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit

• Provide front office support as needed

• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight

• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you will need:

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required. Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required

• Certification : CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT, AAMA, ARMA, CCMA, CMA, MAC, AMCA) is preferred, but not required

• Experience : One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred. On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience
