Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Medical Assistant / Patient Service Specialist I to support both clinical and administrative teams in Norwood. The role requires accurate EMR data entry, patient triage, and efficient handling of vital signs and intake tasks.

You will collaborate with providers, schedule visits, perform office testing and vaccines as ordered, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in a busy physician practice.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with providers to assist in delivering world-class care to patients.
• Room’s patients and prepares the patient for the provider visit.
• Takes vital signs as necessary and enters data into EMR.
• Record patient history, chief complaint, pharmacy information, and prescriptions in EMR.
• Obtains required consents and completes forms for visit types as needed.
• Performs in-office tests and EKGs as ordered.
• Chaperones providers as required and administers vaccines/medications per policy.
• Stocks rooms and monitors supplies; reorders as needed.
• Registers patients in EMR and verifies demographics/insurance; conducts eligibility checks.
• Schedules patient appointments and testing; follows scheduling rules.
• Performs pre-visit planning and outreach for patient care and testing.
