Job summary

UF Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide compassionate patient-centered support in a busy department. You will greet patients, schedule and register them, perform venipuncture, administer routine medications under physician supervision, and handle basic clerical duties.

You may assist with vital signs and cashiering as part of patient care. Required: High School Diploma or GED, CMA within 6 months, BLS at hire, and 1 year minimum Medical Assistant experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• CMA certification within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Experience as Medical Assistant: 1 year minimum.
• Clerical/customer service experience in healthcare: 2–4 years.
• Experience with patient demographics data entry.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and direct messages to appropriate staff.
• Schedule appointments and register patients.
• Perform venipuncture and basic laboratory procedures.
• Administer routine medications under physician supervision.
• Maintain patient vital signs and assist with cashiering for copayments.
• Support department operations and travel up to 25% as needed.
