Job summary

HerKare in Southlake is seeking a Medical Assistant / Patient Services Coordinator for a part-time onsite role up to 30 hours/week. You will greet patients, assist providers, and balance front/back office tasks to keep the clinic moving smoothly.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a patient-first mindset, and is comfortable learning new systems. Prior healthcare exposure and strong communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 6 months of back-office Medical Assistant experience or completed externship
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred
  • Friendly, upbeat, and comfortable talking with patients
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Reliable and willing to jump in wherever needed
  • Comfortable learning new technology and systems
  • Organized and able to multitask
  • Detail-oriented while still maintaining a positive attitude
  • Comfortable working in a busy, high-energy clinic
  • Patient-first mindset and genuine desire to help people

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients with a warm, positive attitude
  • Check patients in and help create an exceptional experience from the moment they walk through the door
  • Answer phones, messages, and patient questions
  • Explain insurance benefits, payments, and costs clearly and compassionately
  • Process payments and maintain accurate patient information
  • Support scheduling and daily administrative tasks
  • Keep the front desk and waiting area clean, organized, and welcoming
  • Help keep the clinic running smoothly and efficiently
  • Obtain and document patient vital signs
  • Perform phlebotomy and injections independently
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures
  • Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing according to protocol
  • Prepare lab requisitions and patient plans
  • Room patients efficiently and support patient flow
  • Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms
  • Process patient specimens according to established protocols
  • Complete required clinical documentation and quality-control logs
  • Help maintain equipment, supplies, and inventory

What You'll Do

Your Schedule

Up to 30 hours per week

  • Monday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 8:00 AM–7:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
  • Thursday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM–12:00 PM (2–4 Saturdays per month)

Employees are expected to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled shift.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Onsite clinical environment with frequent patient interaction
  • Ability to stand, sit, and move throughout the clinic
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to perform fine motor tasks required for clinical duties
