Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant in Long Beach, CA to support physicians and clinical staff with both clinical and administrative tasks. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, accurate documentation, and efficient workflow in a dynamic, state-regulated environment.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma from an accredited MA program, possibly MA certification, CPR/BLS, and at least 1 year in an office setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred or as required by State.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients, document medical history and current medications in the patient record.
• Assist with patient flow to ensure timely visits.
• Support patient experience with excellent communication and safe care environment.
• Prepare and assist with examinations and procedures under physician/APP supervision.
• Collect and prepare specimens, administer injections/immunizations, venipuncture as allowed by state.
• Communicate instructions to patients and ensure understanding.
• Schedule tests, treatments, and follow-ups; communicate results to patients.
• Maintain exam rooms and supplies; sterilize as required.
• Handle referrals, triage messages, and manage patient records.
