Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is actively seeking a Medical Assistant to support patients and the clinical team. You will lead in preparing patient charts, obtaining up-to-date information, and assisting with examinations and diagnostics.

Your role includes phlebotomy, EKGs, basic lab work, and medical documentation within the EMR system. You will also coordinate scheduling, referrals, and patient follow-up across departments.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Medical Assistant certification WA required upon hire.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR required upon hire.
• One year of work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients; collect vital signs, medical history, medications, and allergies.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, basic lab procedures, and assist with examinations.
• Document patient encounters and manage electronic medical records.
• Schedule appointments, referrals, and coordinate patient flow across departments.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments; maintain exam rooms and inventory.
• Provide patient education and handle communications, registrations, and payments.
