Job summary

Methodist Medical Group in Colleyville, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Representative to support physicians with routine clinical tasks and patient education. You will enter documentation into patient charts, assist with examinations, and help ensure smooth clinic operations.

The role requires graduation from an accredited MA program, CPR certification, and 2+ years of medical assisting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
• 2+ years of professional medical assisting in a practice setting is preferred.
• National/Registered Medical Assistant Certification or obtained certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains strict patient confidentiality and discretion when discussing patient information.
• Implement patient care under guidance of physicians and office staff.
• May screen calls during triage under physician supervision and refer medical decisions to a physician.
• May perform injections with documentation.
• Assist physicians/MA staff in providing nursing care per clinic policies.
• Take patient history and vitals.
• Check for expired medication monthly and document disposal.
• Unpack and maintain medical supplies and vaccines; keep supply closet organized.
• Assist in Rx refills via Fax, E-Rx or phone; update medication module.
• Demonstrate infection control procedures and maintain QA for autoclave.
• Other duties as assigned.
