Job summary

Methodist Medical Group in North Texas seeks a Medical Assistant to support physicians with clinical tasks, patient education, and documentation in patient charts. You will perform routine clinical procedures as directed and participate in education within the scope of your licensure.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited MA program, national certification or certification within 90 days of hire, CPR, and the ability to lift patients and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• 2+ years of professional medical assisting experience in a practice setting preferred.
• National/Registered Medical Assistant Certification or certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Requires full range of body motion and ability to lift patients; extensive standing and walking.

Responsibilities

• Maintains strict patient confidentiality and uses discretion when discussing patient information.
• Implements patient care under the guidance of physicians and office management.
• Screen phone calls during triage under physician supervision and refer medical decisions to a physician.
• When needed, administers injections with complete documentation.
• Assists physicians and medical assistants in providing nursing care per clinic procedures.
• Takes patient history and vitals.
• Checks for expired medications monthly and handles disposal.
• Unpacks and maintains medical supplies and vaccines; keeps supply closet organized.
• Assists with Rx refills via Fax, E‑Rx or phone and updates medication module.
• Demonstrates infection control procedures and maintains QA for autoclave.
