Job summary

McLaren Health in Lansing, MI is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver patient care under supervision, performing exams, vital signs, injections, venipuncture, immunizations, EKGs and supporting clerical duties to keep operations efficient.

Wages start at $17.69/hour for non-certified staff and $18.41/hour for CMA/RMA certified personnel, with a $2,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires. The role requires high school diploma or equivalent and relevant training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months experience as a Medical Assistant or Patient Care Tech.
• Or completion of one of the listed programs (medical assistant, EMT, nurse assistant, LPN, medics or PCT).
• BLS certification within 6 months may be required for Rural Health clinics.
• Float positions may require travel between clinics.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and vital signs; prepare patient and equipment for visits.
• Administer injections, draw blood, perform EKGs and PFTs as directed.
• Document interventions and patient responses in charts or EMR.
• Assist with gynecologic exams, physicals and routine procedures.
