Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care. You will work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

Responsibilities include welcoming patients, recording histories and vitals, assisting with exams, administering medications, educating patients, coordinating care, and supporting quality improvement

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved MA program and externship/internship.
• MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in Michigan, or Paramedic with National Registry/active license in Michigan.
• 0–1 year of clinical experience preferred; if MA program is not completed, 2+ years of clinical support experience may be required and will be tested.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.
• Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing, and communicate results to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and act as a liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
