The MA will perform vital signs, EKGs, immunizations, phlebotomy, and documentation in the EHR, while ensuring smooth patient flow and accurate billing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred.
• MA competencies within one year of hire.
• Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web-based applications.

Responsibilities

• Develops empathetic relationships with patients, families and colleagues to contribute to patient care.
• Facilitates timely patient flow during visits and informs related staff of delays.
• Communicates clearly with patients and team during hand-offs and visits.
• Performs medical assisting duties under supervision including vitals, EKGs, phlebotomy, immunizations (certified MA).
• Leads outreach for population health goals and data gathering for quality improvement.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, sterilization, and PHI compliance.
• Queues prescriptions in EHR and documents visit details for billing.
• Schedules diagnostic and lab tests and verifies insurance and pre-authorizations.
