Job summary

Riverside Medical Clinic is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to support clinical offices across operations. You will assist in patient examinations under physician direction, maintain infection control standards, schedule tests, and ensure accurate charting and patient flow.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, Medical Assistant certification, and BLS. Prior medical group experience is preferred; cross-training and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant Certification and BLS required.
• 1 year medical group experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cooperates in cross training to ensure coverage.
• Collects patient data and maintains charts and logs.
• Prepares patients, records vital signs, and assists with procedures.
• Demonstrates sterile technique and safe handling of specimens.
• Explains procedures to patients and families to gain cooperation.
• Prepares treatment room and assists physician during exams.
• Administers prescribed medications per policy and documents them.
• Performs EKGs and other routine tests as certified.
• Ensures charts are correct and physician orders are carried out.
• Manages inventory and orders medical supplies.
• Discards expired samples and supplies per policy.
• Supports nursing policies and Riverside Medical Clinic procedures.
• Maintains current BLS certification.
