Job summary

Hocking Valley Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to provide professional care for patients in an outpatient setting. You will assist providers, manage patient flow, and coordinate care between patients and staff while maintaining accurate records in the EHR.

The role requires certification or completion of an accredited MA program, CPR certification, and prior medical office experience.

Qualifications

• Completion or certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• CPR certification by American Heart Association preferred.
• One year in a medical office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-certify insurance coverage for outpatient clinic visits and ensure precertification validity.
• Greet patients in waiting area and escort to treatment area.
• Take patient history and document pertinent information.
• Answer patient questions and assist with prescription refills with physician approval.
• Maintain patient charts in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Prepare and manage medical supplies and testing materials.
• Assist with review and release of medical records per HIPAA regulations.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines and maintain equipment.
