Job summary

MarinHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical teams under the supervision of the Clinical Lead and Practice Leader, performing patient intake, vital signs, and care coordination to deliver quality patient care.

The role involves collecting information, assisting with procedures, administering injections, and ensuring infection prevention practices as part of a dynamic clinic team across MarinHealth locations.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate required.
• License/Certifications: A Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program such as NHA and AMCA is required or other greater licensure.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
• Experience: At least two years of related medical assisting experience with front and back office responsibilities at a physician’s office or other clinical setting, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Re-processing/ procedural experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care: Rooming patients, including obtaining vital signs, obtaining reason for visit, and documenting symptoms their frequency, and severity.
• Prepares accurate medication list utilizing medication review standard workflow.
• Documents all required information in electronic medical records.
• Provide injections and immunizations as ordered by the provider.
• Provide assistance during medical procedures.
• Obtain all patient information required to meet regulatory obligations.
• Track the receipt of all results for all ordered tests.
• Ability to perform POCT as well as all quality controls.
• Ability to perform bladder scans.
• Assist in patient education.
