Job summary

Hometown Urgent Care & Occupational Health in Columbus, OH is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical and administrative tasks essential to patient care. You will take histories, record vital signs, assist providers, and perform point-of-care testing to support timely diagnoses.

Responsibilities include basic phlebotomy, charting in EMR, preparing exam rooms, and coordinating referrals while maintaining HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years previous experience in a physician practice or clinic setting.
• Basic computer skills, including EMR.
• Ability to function independently without close supervision, and to consistently exercise discretion and the highest level of good clinical and other professional judgment.
• Ability to complete and maintain CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Take patient histories and record vital signs.
• Assist providers with exams and testing; coordinate care records.
• Perform basic testing and screenings (vision, hearing, glucose, urine tests, EKGs, POC).
• Perform phlebotomy and document lab results in the chart.
• Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality.
• Schedule referrals and communicate with patients about care plans.
