Overview

As an Advanced PCC, this experienced role requires a thorough understanding of healthcare practices, the ability to apply theory into practice, and independently execute a full spectrum of responsibilities including complex issue analysis and solution development.

Responsibilities
  • Master PCC II skills and serve as a professional model within the team.
  • Coordinate complex patient care activities, including device monitoring, scheduling, processing, and result tracking.
  • Assist with in-clinic procedures and coordinate patient procedures.
  • Monitor and report patient data such as lab results, blood pressure, and weight logs.
  • Manage insurance authorizations, including scheduling peer-to-peer reviews and electronic prior authorizations.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments prior to hospital discharges.
  • Perform higher-level duties as defined by the department.
  • Coordinate workforce health and wellness activities, including transitional return-to-work assignments.
  • Utilize specialized third-party software (e.g., CHOIR, Glooko) for ambulatory multispecialty care.
  • Manage scheduling and develop EPIC flowsheets for allergen testing in the Allergy, Asthma, and Immunodeficiency Clinic.
  • Superuser responsibilities for medical devices in Gynecology, including Clinitek and Trophon.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED plus one of the following: certification from a medical assisting program, completion of medical assistant training by a licensed physician or podiatrist, or certification as a medical assistant through a CA-approved organization.
Experience
  • Minimum four years of overall experience, including external experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, coding, billing, and computer systems.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Problem-solving and customer service skills, capable of handling high-volume, stressful situations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of home health, practice care coordination, and clinical skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to evolving healthcare practices and technologies.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
