Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator I

Employment: Full-time, Day shift, 8 hours, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Overview

The PCC II is an entry-level position responsible for learning and applying job skills, policies, and procedures to complete moderate tasks. They facilitate smooth clinic operations and develop skills for career progression within the care team.

Responsibilities
  • Develop clinical expertise in assigned areas.
  • Maintain records, ensure protocol compliance, and uphold safety and infection control standards.
  • Perform patient care duties such as measuring vital signs, assisting with labs, medication reconciliation, and other departmental tasks.
  • Handle clinical administration tasks including check-in/out, virtual rooming, vaccine administration, and specimen collection.
  • Manage clinic preparation, stocking, and supply ordering.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff, managing calls, prescriptions, and clinic support operations.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED plus one of the following: completion of a medical assisting program, training by a licensed physician or podiatrist, or certification from a Medical Board of California-approved organization.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding, billing, and clinical systems.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of home health, care coordination, and clinical skills.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA.
