Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to prepare patients for visits, collect data, and support clinic workflows. You will greet patients, verify records, and assist with examinations and lab procedures as needed.

The role requires completion of a medical assistant program with ABHES/CAAHEP accreditation and current CMA/CPR certification. A strong emphasis on accurate charting and patient communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program ABHES/CAAHEP or equivalent with accreditation.
• May have clinical rotation experience.
• ABHES, CAAHEP, NCCA, NHA or NCCT certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and collects assessment data.
• Assists in examination, treatment and clinic procedures.
• Schedules appointments and manages the computerized scheduler.
• Answers phone calls and triages as needed; documents in patient records.
• Collects payments and issues receipts; maintains charts and supplies.
