Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to deliver patient care in a fast-paced clinical setting in the United States. The role involves patient preparation, vital signs, medication administration under supervision, and meticulous charting.

The ideal candidate has completed an accredited Medical Assistant program and will obtain one of the recognized MA certifications within the first year. BLS and mandatory reporter training are required within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHP or ABHES.
• Must obtain one of the listed Medical Assistant certifications within one year of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 3 months of hire.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter Abuse training within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient in basic computer skills (Windows, MS Office).
• Ability to work with diverse groups in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
• Must be able to read, write, and understand English and communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through patient preparation, vital sign collection, and documentation.
• Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations under provider direction.
• Prepare and organize patient charts and ensure documentation is complete.
• Schedule procedures, labs, imaging, and surgeries and provide pre-/post-procedure information.
• Coordinate appointments, including insurance pre-certifications and follow-ups.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies and standards.
• Educate patients and families based on assessed needs and discharge plans.
• Promote evidence-based resources to optimize nursing practice and patient care.
• Act as a patient advocate with professional communication and courteous service.
• Assist in training and orienting new colleagues and provide cross-coverage as needed.
