Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in the Puget Sound area is seeking a Medical Assistant to keep daily operations smooth for patients and the clinical team. You will lead patient chart preparation, ensuring information is current for those seen in the facility.

Responsibilities include clinical support, patient intake, phlebotomy, EKGs, medication administration, and documentation in the EMR, while coordinating scheduling and referrals across departments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• WA Medical Assistant Certification required on hire.
• BLS CPR certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients, collect vitals, medical history, medications, allergies, and assist with examinations.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, basic labs, administer medications, and communicate results.
• Document encounters, update EMR, and ensure confidentiality and accuracy.
• Schedule appointments, referrals, and coordinate care across departments.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, maintain exam rooms, and manage supplies.
• Provide patient education and handle communications, registrations and payments.
