Job summary

Methodist Medical Group in North Texas is seeking a Medical Assistant to work under physician or nurse direction. You will provide healthcare to individuals and families, perform routine clinical tasks, participate in patient education, and document in patient charts as instructed by the physician.

The role requires graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, national certification or eligibility within 90 days of hire date, CPR certification, and the ability to lift and assist

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
• National/Registered Medical Assistant Certification or introduced certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Valid CPR certification.
• Requires full range of body motion including lifting patients and dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Maintains strict patient confidentiality and discretion with patient information.
• Implement patient care under guidance of physicians and office staff.
• Screen phone calls during triage under physician supervision and refer medical decisions to a physician.
• Administer intramuscular, intradermal or subcutaneous injections with documentation.
• Assist physicians and medical staff in providing nursing care per clinic policies.
• Take patient history and vitals.
• Monthly check for expired medications and proper disposal.
• Unpack and maintain medical supplies and vaccines; keep supply closet organized.
• Assist in Rx refills via Fax, E-Rx or phone and update patient medication module.
• Demonstrate infection control procedures and maintain QA for autoclave.
• Other duties as assigned.
