Job summary

The Portland Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant to support licensed clinicians in patient care. You will prepare patients, assist with procedures, manage scheduling and ensure HIPAA compliance while maintaining clean rooms and accurate EHR documentation.

Ideal candidates hold MA certification (or reach certification within 90 days), have a high school diploma, CPR, and are able to work 40 hours weekly in a non-exempt role. Community-centered care is valued.

Qualifications

  • MA certification or must fulfill requirements within 90 days of hire and proof within 120 days
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR Certification (AHA)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for exams and document vital signs in the EHR.
  • Prioritize patient concerns and coordinate with clinicians.
  • Assist LIP with in-office procedures and exams.
  • Maintain cleanliness of exam/procedure rooms per OSHA.
  • Manage scheduling, calls, messages, and prior authorizations.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and proper documentation.
  • Mentor and train new staff; participate in meetings.
