Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of clinical experience or graduation from Medical Assistant program required.
• Two years of experience in similar healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating the patient's medical record prior to the appointment.
• Completes pre-charting of all value-based pieces up to five days prior to patient’s appointment.
• Prepares patients for examination and escorts them into the exam room.
• Maintains exam rooms and clinical supplies; handles disposal of bio-hazardous waste.
• Communicates with Care Team regarding discharges, ED visits, labs and referrals.
• Assists with administrative tasks such as check-in and check-out procedures.
