Job summary

UnitedHealth Group in Lakewood, CO is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinicians with patient care in a busy ambulatory setting. You will assist with minor procedures, perform phlebotomy, and handle a broad range of clerical tasks to ensure smooth delivery of care.

You will document vital signs, manage records, and help protect PHI under HIPAA. Strong communication, reliability, and the ability to work with diverse patients are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or relevant experience.
• BLS certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Experience in ambulatory care and EMR systems is preferred.
• Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consistently exhibit behavior and communication skills that demonstrate the company's commitment to superior customer service.
• Use, protect, and disclose PHI in accordance with HIPAA.
• Anticipate the clinician's needs and carry out orders.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and ancillary services as needed.
• Obtain, record, and report vital signs and other pertinent patient information.
• Perform medical procedures and medication administration as appropriate for certification.
• Perform phlebotomy, process lab specimens, and maintain logs.
• Assist clinicians with procedures and ensure proper documentation.
