Suncoast Community Health Centers Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to support clinicians in patient exams and procedures. The MA will capture vitals, collect specimens, administer injections under supervision, and perform basic lab tests while maintaining clean exam rooms and organized patient flow.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with EMR systems. BLS is preferred, and the position may involve travel between center locations where needed.

Formación

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and EMR systems; up-to-date with system improvements.

Responsabilidades

• Take and record patient vitals and medical histories.
• Assist providers during exams, procedures, and treatments, including aseptic prep and collecting lab specimens.
• Administer injections, vaccines and medications under supervision, including venipuncture.
• Perform basic lab tests such as blood draws and urinalysis; conduct EKGs and vision checks as needed.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms; ensure supplies and cleanliness for patient visits.
• Schedule appointments, follow-ups, referrals; manage patient flow and office coordination.
• Update patient records in the EMR and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
• Process insurance verification, billing, and coding as required.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
