Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required upon hire.
• Certification to practice as a Medical Assistant required upon hire.
• Basic Life Support - CPR required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtain all required information for the provider prior to the patient's appointment.
• Prepare the patient prior to the provider entering the treatment room.
• Keep accurate documentation in the patient's chart pertaining to the appointment or any interaction with a patient within her/his scope of service, e.g., daily chart preparation for visit, medication refills or response to written order given by the provider or phone messages.
• Interview individuals and obtain comprehensive and accurate information, prioritize incoming telephone calls appropriately.
• Communicate effectively in oral and written form.
