Job summary

Dignity Health Medical Foundation is seeking a Medical Assistant to support daily operations for patients and the medical team in California. You will prepare charts, assist with exams, record vital signs, and work with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for authorizations and refills.

Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and CPR certification; six months of MA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate General Studies or GED General Studies.
• Formal Medical Assistant program completion as required by state regulations.
• Basic Life Support CPR required.
• Six months Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepping patients for examinations or procedures.
• Accurately document vital signs.
• Keep patients informed about appointment delays and communicate updates.
• Assist with exams or procedures and relay physician instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, insurance, and pharmacies for authorizations and refills.
• Manage medical records (charts and EMR).
