Job summary

Odyssey House Louisiana is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to join our team delivering a comprehensive continuum of care in Louisiana. The MA will serve as the first point of contact, coordinate with providers, collect vitals, update med history, and ensure timely, compassionate care throughout the care process.

The role requires CPR certification, proficiency with MS Office 365, and at least 1 year of EHR experience.

Qualifications

• CPR certification current and unexpired.
• MS Office 365 proficiency required.
• At least 1 year of Electronic Health Records experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with medical providers and nursing staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Collect and document vital signs and medical history; administer PHQ-9 and GAD-7 screenings.
• Update patient allergies and reconcile medications; verify preferred pharmacy information and complete prior authorizations.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR in compliance with LDH and CARF standards.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and provide compassionate, culturally sensitive care.
• Administer intramuscular injections as protocols require.
