Job summary

Medi-Weightloss of Franklin is seeking a Medical Assistant (part time) to join our caring team. You will handle vitals, EKG, phlebotomy, IM injections, and front-office tasks to ensure patients are provider-ready and warmly welcomed.

The role supports our Growth Manager, assists with insurance processes, maintains EMR documentation, and participates in clinic marketing and inventory duties. Tues 7:00–1:00, Thu 1:00–6:00, Fri 7:30–1:30.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Front office experience including insurance and VOB knowledge.
• Clinical experience in EKG and phlebotomy.
• Experience in exercise is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient vitals, perform EKG and phlebotomy; administer IM injections.
• Support Growth Manager with front-office tasks and welcome patients.
• Utilize a multi-line phone system and route calls appropriately.
• Follow up with patients to discuss progress and address concerns.
• Assist with clinic marketing and inventory management.
• Document progress notes in EMR and maintain patient files.

Primary Responsibilities:

We are looking for a "flow master." You will be the primary person responsible for getting patients "provider-ready." This includes rapid and accurate vitals, EKG, and phlebotomy (IM injections included). When not in the lab, you will support our Growth Manager with front-office tasks, ensuring every patient feels welcomed and every phone call is handled with care.

Administrative Duties:

• Utilize a multi-line phone system to answer and appropriately route all incoming calls.
• Conduct follow-up calls to discuss patient progress and address concerns.
• Refer non-routine, sensitive, or complex requests to the appropriate staff member.
• Ensure exceptional patient service by maintaining a friendly environment, greeting patients, and upholding outstanding standards.
• Assist with monitoring daily inventory levels of clinical and office supplies.
• Perform daily scanning and uploading of documents in patient files.
• Train additional staff on daily procedures when requested by the office manager and/or physician.
• Participate in clinic marketing efforts and provide ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success.

Clinical Duties (varied based on credentials):

• Obtain patient vitals, EKG, and perform phlebotomy.
• Administer IM injections.
• Prepare laboratory order forms and obtain patient laboratory results.
• Assist physicians or mid-level practitioners with patient referrals to other healthcare professionals.
• Document patient progress notes in the patient chart and/or EMR.
• Conduct follow-up calls to patients to discuss progress and address concerns.
• Perform other clinical duties as required.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you should have:

• Medical Assistant certification. (Preferred)
• Front office experience, including insurance and VOB knowledge.
• Clinical experience in EKG and phlebotomy.
• Prior experience and training in exercise (a plus).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
