Medical Assistant (Part Time)

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Medi-Weightloss of West Des Moines. This role focuses on front office expertise and patient care in a supportive environment.

Primary Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will perform patient vitals, EKG, phlebotomy, and front office duties. Experience with insurance and VOB, as well as exercise knowledge, is a plus.

Administrative Duties

• Answer and route multi-line phone systems
• Conduct follow-up calls to discuss patient progress
• Refer complex requests to appropriate staff member
• Maintain a friendly patient environment and uphold service standards
• Monitor daily inventory of clinical and office supplies
• Scan and upload patient documents
• Train staff on daily procedures when requested
• Support clinic marketing efforts to promote profitability

Clinical Duties (varied Based On Credentials)

• Obtain vitals, EKG, and perform phlebotomy
• Administer IM injections
• Prepare laboratory orders and retrieve results
• Assist physicians with patient referrals
• Document patient progress notes in EMR
• Conduct follow-up calls on patient progress
• Perform other clinical duties as required

Requirements

• Medical Assistant certification
• Front office experience, including insurance and VOB knowledge
• Clinical experience in EKG and phlebotomy
• Preferred: training in exercise
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
