Job summary

US Foot & Ankle Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide essential support in a fast-paced orthopedic clinic. You will welcome patients, prepare exam rooms, take vitals, update histories, and document in the EMR while assisting physicians with in-office procedures.

This role requires strong communication and teamwork, attention to detail, and the ability to travel between local office locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 1+ year clinical experience.
• CMA or RMA certification preferred.
• Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes preferred.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
• Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
• Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)
• Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
• Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
• Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
• Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
• Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance

The Medical Assistant provides essential support and administrative services to the office, the doctors, and the patients in a fast-paced doctor’s office. This person will be involved in a wide spectrum of tasks focused around assisting the Physician in all minor in office procedures.

Medical Assistant Physical Requirements:

• Sit, talk, hear, and use hands to write, type, or operate office equipment
• Occasionally reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell
